I loved the idea of a blog. But time and our reality has shown me I'm not near disciplined enough to keep up with a blog. So this page will be called "Updates" from now on. It sounds more liberal and forgiving if I don't get to it as often as I should.
2009 was a great year  for Sheridan Oaks Stable. Lots of big wins, lots of new horses and an influx of really great new people. We are so proud of these riders who put in such great effort and survive the overtime lessons with good humor. All three of our youth exhibitors qualified for the Affiliate Finals in North Carolina and then advanced on to Oklahoma City. Tres Moore won a very tough 14-18 class in NC and made us very proud. Javi Melo went on to be Reserve Champion in the 13 & under class in Oklahoma City and Danielle Cohen was 6th in the same class. We couldn't have been happier for them.
Heath Gunnison, our very capable assistant qualified in and won the Rookie Professional Class on Helen Frame's Izzy Whizzy at the Affiliate Finals.
Nu Doc's Cash and Dave won three Derby classes in 2009 and started 2010 by winning the Intermediate Open Derby at the Florida Classic. Javi Melo will start showing this great horse in some Rookie Classes this year. Watch for Javi's interview on Inside Reining after he won the 13 & under Youth Saddle at the Hard Rock Classic.
JP Stewart and Enterprise Rooster had an incredible year in the Rookie Classes at the FRHA shows piling up numerous wins. We will miss him as he takes this year off from showing, but he promises to be back in 2011!!
Congratulations to George Webster, Maryln Kaufman, Ed Frawley, and Brianna Leavy on their new horses. We expect great things from all of you!

Just back from The Southeastern Affiliate Finals at the Carolina Classic in Williamston, North Carolina. Congratulations to ED Frawley on winning the Green Reiner class on Saturday and then coming back and scoring his highest score to date on Sunday. Dale Sargeant, our other Green Rider, also stepped up to score a 70.5 to tie Ed. Dave rode George Webster's Durachex to be second in the Novice Horse Open with a 145. Tres Moore qualified to go to the Finals in OKC with a 140.5 in the 14-18 Youth.
Congratulations to Kevin Jewell for winning the FRHA Futurity in Ocala this month on Wimpy's Little Diamond. (There is no greater sense of security  for a reining trainer than getting to travel with his super talented farrier. Thank you ,Kevin for all you do for the team!!!
Big congratulations to Linda Brewer on the purchase of a great new reiner. We are all so excited for you! Pictures to follow.
The Short Stirrup Reining Class in NC was adorable and we came home pysched to get our little peanuts ready for 2011!! Watch for Taylor, Kyra, Caroline, Trey and Anthony - the next generation of DMR Reiners!!
